Main Street Inn Resort Testimonials List
A different type of hotel - for the right reasonsMy wife and I spent 3 great nights here. We chose the Inn after checking out websites and trip advisor comments and we were not disappointed.
All the rooms face into a lovely tropical garden courtyard - no balconies but if you leave your window or door open you hear the birds and the fountains. The breakfast is excellent - it's the only hotel or B&B on our trip that served real bacon and eggs, and great biscuits, along with the other standards. It is well situated in the Main Street area as you first come onto the island so is pretty easy to find. Walking distance to restaurants - we liked Frankie Bones Bistro. 5 minute drive to Golden Bear Golf which is semi private and has a rate with the Inn. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially General Manager Denise Hatcher who was working the front lines when we were there. It has a very " old world " look to it which is a pleasant change from the normal high rise hotel and is several levels above the normal B&B where you take your chances on service. My wife has already picked out our room for next visit. -OntarioBolt Felt like we were at a Mansion...A very quaint, calm setting. Beautiful gardens...I felt like I was staying in a new orleans mansion. Loved it!
-Charlotte, NC A little bit of Europe in the Low CountryThe Main Street Inn is a very nice boutique hotel. The Inn has a distinct European flavor with the architectural design, the reception desk, the parlor and the breakfast room. The guest rooms were nicely decorated and well appointed. The room was quiet, clean and well maintained. The courtyard was well landscaped and attractive. The pool area was clean and well done. Towels were available at the pool. The hot tub was clean, hot and powerful. The afternoon wine, beer and cookies were a nice touch, although you do have to pay for soft drinks. A full English breakfast is included and is well done but has little variety. Location was the only negative with the Main Street Inn but it was also a positive. The Inn is located several miles from the Sea Pines traffic circle, which is the center of most of the island activity. You are also a couple of miles from the beach. The positive about the location is being out of the crowds and traffic. The area is very quiet and peaceful. We would definitely recommend the Main Street Inn if you are looking for quiet and refined.
